Dr. Aleksandra M. Pecinar graduated at the Department of Modern Greek Language and Literature, Faculty of Philology in Belgrade as one of the best students of the
Belgrade University (Scholarship from the Royal Norwegian Embassy).
During her studies she has repeatedly visited the studio trainings at Greek universities (Aristotle University, University of Patras) and was awarded the scholarship of the Ministry of Religion and Culture of the Republic of Greece. She holds an MA in General Contemporary History, Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade, as well as PhD from the same department and she is focusing mainly at diplomatic history of the first half of the 20th century. During her doctoral studies she was awarded the scholarship of the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Her career began with the translation activity (Award of the Association of Literary Translators Greece). In addition to her translation activities (Fellow of the Institute "Pushkin", Athens, Official court interpreter for the Greek language of Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Serbia, a member of the Association of Scientific Translators of Serbia), her activity was focused on the promotion of Serbian culture in Greece (advisor to the Club UNESCO of Piraeus and the Islands in Athens.)
As a researcher and translator she collaborated with: The Greek Association for the preservation of historical archives during 1940-1974, in Athens, and the Hellenic National Audio-Visual Archives (He NAA), Athens, Greece.
Dr. Pecinar is the Associate of the "School of National Defense" of Republic of Serbia, University "Defense" (Ministry of Defense of Republic of Serbia). She is a Fellow- member of the National Research Foundation "Eleftherios K. Venizelos" from Chania, Crete, Greece and official representative of aforementioned institution in Serbia. She is a member of the "Institute of Naval history" in Portugal and she holds the title of Honorary Academician of Social Sciences of the "International Academy of Social Sciences" (IASS), Palm Beach, Florida, USA.
Dr. Pecinar is the author of the book "Diplomatic and allied relations of Serbia and Greece (1912-1918)" which has recently been published under the auspices of Ministry of Defense of Republic of Serbia.
In addition to cooperation with professional scientific journals such as "The currents of history" and "Archives", Belgrade, "History Illustrated", Athens, her articles were published in business and economy magazine "Profit" from Belgrade.
She participated in the official state ceremonies of Allies of World War I on the occasion of the anniversary of the breach of the Salonika front in Thessalonica. Also, at the official state ceremonies marking the centenary of the Kingdom of Montenegro, Cetinje. She participated in the International Symposium organized by the European Cultural Centre of Delphi dedicated to the centenary celebration of the World War I, in Delphi. Also, at the International conference dedicated to the centenary celebration of "Thessalonica Government" organized by Institute for Balkan studies, Thessalonica, Foundation of Greek Parliament, Athens and National Research Foundation "Eleftherios K. Venizelos", Crete.
Dr. Pecinar is a granddaughter of Academician Miladin Pecinar who was a pioneer of Serbian hydrology engineering and one of 1.300 corporals who participated in Albanian Golgotha during the First World War.
